GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S VISIT. (SPECIAL TO '"THE PBES3.") GREYMOUTH, July 9. Lord Jellicoe will visit Westlana about January next, during the period of the Exhibition at Hokitika. "While on the Coast, Lord Jellicoe, as Grand Master of the Dominion, is likely to visit the Masonic Lodges of the trictPersonal. . For the "Westland Hospital matronship thirteen applications were received, and Nurse Francis Price, of Gis borne, was appointed. Fresh appointments to the staff of the Grey Technical High School are: — Mr C. B. Fcris, of the District High School, Hamilton, Science and Mathematics master; Miss Bose Adams, Technical School, Masterton, Domestic Science mistress; Mr Lionel Clark, of Wanganui Technical College, instructor in woodwork. 1 Obituary. The death occurred yesterday of Mr Michael O'Donnell, one of the best known pioneers of the West Coast. He had been a patient of tho Grey Hospital for some time. Born 87 yeais ago in County Tipperary, Ireland, he came to New Zealand at an early age. He was for many years at Maori Creek and later resided at Paroa. Deceased leaves throe sons and two daughters. The death occurred to-day of Mrs Curtain, wife of Mr P. Curtain, Brunner. Deceased, who was 52 years of ago, had been ailing for about ten days. She was born at Waimea, and was a daughter of Mr P. Roland and the late Mrs Roland, of • that district. She leaves four sons and three dauglit ers.
