Orders have been issued for the arrest of the president and tho secretary of the branch of the United Mine Workers of America, whoso members have struck in sympathy with the steel workers, as a protest against the occupation of the Cape Breton area by Federal and provincial troops. Additional troops are being sent to the disturbed area. Later. A telegram from Sydney, Nova Scotia, says Dan Livingston, president, and James MacLaehlin, secretary of the loca.l branch of tho United Mine Workers of America, hare been arrested, following their circulation of a letter urging a general coal-miners' strike as a protest against police and military measures in connexion with the steel strike.
