FIRES.
The City Fire Brigade had a very busy week-end. At 10.32 p.m. on Saturday it was asked to extinguish a chimney fire at 484 Armagh street, Linwood. At 3.55 a.m. yesterday; a call was-re-ceived to 76 North Parade, Richmond, to premises owned by Mr "William Moffat, where a, motor-car and shed were destroyed by fire. The. car was . insured in the Norwich Union Office, and! the shed in the New Zealand Office: At 4.19 a.m. yesterday the Brigade was summoned to the Railway Hotel. A report of this fire appears elsewhere. At 7.52 p.m. a call was received .to 34 Wordsworth street, Sydenham, where ! a fire had broken out in a detached shed ! owned by Messrs Johnston and Harris. I A motor-bicycle, side-chair, and tools ! were stored in the shed. The shed j and contents was badly damaged. The j motor-cvcle was insured far £IOO. and ! the toois for £ls in the New Zeaalnd Office. There was no insurance on i the shed. '
