Mr W. Geo. Brass was granted a land agent's license at the Magistrates Court yesterday.

Dr. u. R. Lindsay (Auckland), J. S. Heay (Melbourne), Messrs B. C. Eglmton (Paimerston Xs'orth), R. R. Ireland (Oamaru), 1-. J. Murray '(Woodbank), and J. 11. Holgate (l'imaru) are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr J. M. Bishop, who has just been awarded the traveling scholarship for Now Zealand for engineering, is a son of Mi- J. C. Bishop, of Mem street, Wellington. He graduated Bachelor of Engineering at Canterbury College a year ago, and last week left for Sydney to take a responsible post with U»e British General Electric Company.
