Magistrate's Court. Messrs V. T. Lester and F. G. Norton, J.P.'s, presided at a special sitting of the Magistrate's Court held at the Police Station last evening, when John Fleming and Poter Cullen, firemen if. the steamer Westmearh, were _ convicted oi using obscene language, and each Jir.ed £2. Fleming waj convicted and discharged for drunkenness. Seamen's Institute. The seamen in the Tainui, Westmeatk, and Canadian Constructor were present at a concert jiven on Thursday evening by the Sumner Ladies' Guild. Those contributing were Mesdames Lee. 'West, and Misses Oldridge, Pea-rce, Hobson, and Grant, snd Mr Block. Supper was also provided by tho Sumner ladies, St. Saviour's Orphanage. As a result of a street collection and ft house-to-house canva-ss made yesterday, by the ladies of Holy Trinity Church and St. Saviour's Church, tho sum of over fBO was raised for St. Saviour's Orphanage.
