(BY CABLE—PSESS ASSOCIATION —COPTBIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
(Deceived April 26th, 8.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 26,
One hundred unemployed women marched to Lambeth Palace, and told the Archbishop of Canterbury of their hopeless fight on the 12s a week dole. They pleaded for a Government grant for training in homecraft centres.
Miss Bondfield: Wo have over a quarter of a million of workless women in Great Britain, and it is impossible for all to be absorbed in domestic service even if fit. Misß Barker said they were not convinced that there was any system for looking after emigrant women overseas.
The Archbishop replied that emigration conditions were improving by leaps and bounds. He promised all the aid possible.
