An upside-down aero engine, constructed for a two-seater fighting aeroplane, was tested in the Napier works at Acton, Middlesex. The engine, which is known as the inverted Napier Lion, is an exact reversal of the ordinary engine, having its crank case at the top and its cylinders beneath, and has been so constructed as to enable th& pilot of a fighting plane to have an uninterrupted view forward of his machine.
