The United Kingdom Alliance re ports that the nation's drink bill foi 1922 totalled' £354,000,C00, compared with £402,750,C00 in 1981, working out at £lO to £l2 per adult. The dcclino is attributable to unemployment, reduced wages, and the high price of drinks. During January and February, 228,686 proof gallons of cpirita were sent to thd AVeat Indies for (smuggling to the United States, compared with 80,000 gallons for the same months in 1922. ___________
