At the annual meeting of the. Malvern Rug'by Football Sub-Union., the pr-.sident Mr H. A. Boyle, was in ' the chair, ana delegates were present from Kjrwee, Darfiu.d, SJuffijlti, Greendale, anj Uientunnel.
The muanoe-sheet for.the past season showed a credit ba.ancc of £3 Ids 3d, the past season was considered one of tiie best th-i Union has had, having seven teams in" thj senior and five teams in, ' the junior co_iipetition, the seniors playing four representative matches and the juniors one. The View Hill Club applied* for affiliatioi with the Union, and after hearing the tiiCi,instances, it was decided .to allow them to join- subject to the consent of the Canterbury Rug'by Union. ; It was decided "to open the competition oh April 21st, the following the draw for tHe first Saturday v the teams menti ncd first to filay on home'ground) —Kirwee v. Hororata (referee, Mr Masgee); Greendaie v. Sheffield (Mr Green); I)arfield v. Glentunnel (Mr Butler).
It was decided to inaugurate a primary school competition, if possible, the matt'r I) >.ny left in the hands of Mr Menzies uni Mr Pratt to report to the Union. 1 lit delegates were instructed to make a •03 -n-mendation to their clu'>s to increaS- 1 the subscription to the Union t.i £2 2s. It wfi£ also decided to hold o junior competition, if sufficient teams were available. Regarding representative- matches, it was decided to play them' through the Eeason if thej could be arranged. A hearty vote of than.'fs was accorded to Mr Boyle, and Mr Richards for the donation of a silver cup for the schools ccmp tit on.
