KAIAPOI ITEMS.

A meeting of the parishioners of St. Bartholomew's Church, Kaiapoi, was held in the schoolroom last evening, the vicar, the Rev. L. A. Knight, presiding over a fair attendance. Mr L. R. Oram, parishioners' warden, read the annual balance-sheet, which showed a debit balance of general account of £7O iite lid, and a credit balance ot ij'Ao 2s id on the parocmal account. He referred to the progress made by the church choir, which was due to the untiring efforts of the conductor, Mr G. E. March. The subscribers to the envelope system had kept up their amounts with unfailing regularity, and he urged more members, to support it. In conclusion he thanked ail church workers "for their loyal and generous support. The following officers were elected:—Vicar's warden, Mr G. E. March; parishioners' warden, Mr A. Gordon; vestry, Messrs L. 11. Oram. Rr Dunn, H. W. Cliilds, R. Box, J. Bradley, E. E. Papprill, L. C. B. Fuldseth, R. Rofe, J. Wiritcrburn, Dr. G. E. Gillett, L. Childs, F. Burgess (ClaTkville); Ladies' Council, Mcsdamea H. C. ltevell, H. Best, Mines, Fawcett, Pearce, Brown, May and Goldthorpe. , At a largely attended public meeting, held in the Grand Theatre, Kaiapoi, last night, Messrs J. L. Blackwell and L. B. Evans were appointed trustees of the Kai;:poi Park, to act with Mr T. H. Caverhill, the only surviving original trustee.
