CONCERT CHAMBER.
TO TBS EDITOR 07 "THE tHSS." Sir, —I am a ratepayer and as such object to being rated in order to build the proposed concert chamber. The "parrot cry" of those in favour of tlie proposition is that it it an urgent necessity. For whom ? It .can be for no one else than the musical societies. If this is so, then why do not the Musical Societies build their own hall, and not ask those who are not interested to do so. All other societies and clubs who have required halls, etc., have built their own and so why not the Musical Societies. Anyway what is the need of such a concert chamber, as the Caledonian Society's Hall is now being finished, and it will be large enough until the Town Hall is erected.—Vours. etc., UmiUSICAL.
