CHEVIOT. j The fourteenth annual show of (he Cheviot ! -'.. anu P. Association v.-as held yesterdav I in beautiful weather. There was a ver'v large attendance of the public, many of whom came long distances in traps and motorcars. Mr George Forbes, M.P., was among those present, and expressed pleasure at j the fact that the show was getting back I to its pre-war reputation as the best coun--1 try shenv r.i Canterbury, ilr Forbes presented the Thomas Go- Gup to Mrs A. Gillanders for her pony ~n d er fourteen hands. The conditions attached to this cup by Mr Gee, who was formerly secretary to tho Association, and who is now in England, arc mat it must tie won two years in succession or three times at intervals, with a different pony each year. The exhibit of stock was easily the best that has been seen at the show for years and the entries in all classes were larger than at previous shows. The president, Mr A Gillanders, and the secretary, ilr L. li.
