The Governor-General's speech at the opening of the Federal Parliament was the shortest on record. It stated that the Ministers desired a. litltte time to frame a policy. Mr M. Charlton (Leader of the Labour Party) secured an adjournment. . It is expected that Mr F. Anstey, on behalf of the Opposition, will launch an attack on the Government to-day. Later. In the House of [Representatives Mr Anstey, on behalf of the Opposition, moved a no-confidence motion, attacking the Government on the ground of its general lack of policy.
