MEETING OP ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the United Burgesses' Association was hold last night, Mr A. E. Blani presiding. A letter was received from the now defunct Northcoto Residents' Association stat« ing that their settlement wan Buffering front many disabilities owing to the attitude, ol the W&imairi County Council. It was deJ cided to assist the Northcote residents as fa* aa possible. ' Mt H. Aston referred to thk state of the river Avon at Bexley bridge, where it ovew flows into a mosquito swamp, thus causing a most unhealthy state of affairs. The Glandovey railway crossing was mentioned aa being dangerous to traffic The Progress League's report, which stated thM the crossing was safe, came in for some strong criticism, especially by those who us« the crofsing froqtinntly.
