FENDALTON GARDEN FETE

The spacious grounds of "Koamara, the beautiful rosidsnee of his Honour Mr Justice Adams, were eminently adapted! for the g ;rden fete which wis held there on Saturday afternoon. The fine lawns were dotted with tents and stalls, and the whole spectacle was charming to the eye. The green shade from the trees nearby was very welcome to the large number of visitors and friends who were present at the fete. There was an unusually large number of st.ills, all of which did good business during the afternoon. The arrangements were very complete, and reflect great credot on the oommittee which organised the fete. The lot (Canterbury)' Regimental Band, under the conductorsip of Lieut. C. H. Hoskind, played bright selections during the afternoon. The proceeds of the fete were in aid of tho Memonal Church Building Eund, wluch will benefit to a consideriii/e extent. The committee which had charge of the arrangements consisted of Messrs S. Jameson, Harman. Partridge, Gresson, Moore, and Beckett. The stall-holders were: Work stall, Mesdames. Leaoh, Dougall, Holmes, Edgar, and Mies "Webb; men's stall, Messrs Meares and l Dunkley; Christmas - tree, Mrs Widdowson and Miss Partridge; afternoon tea, Misses Fenwick, Young, Ross, Warren, Andrews, Wratt, Herdman, Sanson, Maxwell, Smith, Campbell, Mulligan, Webb, the Misses Buss (5), and Messrs Benger and Norris; sweet stall, Mesdames Ruddick and Sandrey, Misses M. and R. Hall, M. Crawshaw, Muriel McDonald, D. Dunnage, and P. Hiil'.son; ice cream, Misses Harman, Morris, and Norris; cake stall, Mesdames. Beckett, C. Matson, Warrington, W. Thomson, and/ Mise Matson; fruit salad, Mesdames Wilson. Baldwin, Farrow, Taylor, Bell, and Miss Marriott; bowling competition, Mrs PaTtridae, Messrs Penlington, Hutton, and Partridge; produce stall, Mesdames Jeltett, Helmore, Godby, Allen, Heathcote-Gray, Stephenson, Aitken, Mr and Mrs Spence-Bower, Mr and Mrs Cha.pman; handkerchief and! d'oyleys, Mrs McClatchie.
