THE CONDUCT OF HOTELS.
TO THE KDITOB CHf "THE PRESS." Sir, —The licensing poll is over and the trad© has been given another three years to carry on. What I wish to know is will the hotelkeepers show the public for this extension? lam not going to ask the Trade to reduce the price of the goods, but I would suggest that the local hotelkeepers, the majority of whom, I believe, are conducting their houses in a most creditable manner, should insist that the few Amongst them who -are bringing discredit 031 a, business which is catering for a public necessity, by their continued after hour and Sunday trading, and also by the way in which they set rooms apart for the use of women (this has been commented on by the ■ local Magistrate), should be most severely dealt with. I have always read your leading articles on the licensing question with great interest, and I confidently hope that you will take the matter of the conduct of the hotels to task. —Yours, etc., ESTTEBJESTED.
