INTER-BOROUGH CONTEST.
STJMNEB EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Sumner Executive or the Spoita Association was held in the Bowling Pavilion Present —Messre 0. F. Allen (president), W. S. Mitchell (Bowling), F. J. Glacktn (Life-saving), P. Dick (Football and Athletics), J. O'Neill (Fire Brigade), J Wood (Tennis), 0. M. Roswill (Rifle Olub), W. Middleton (Cricket), P. Oliver (Bowing), Dr. Richardson (Tennii, Bedcliffa), and H. J. Williams (Croquet, gumner) Correipondence was received from the New Brighton Executive regarding the coming inter-borough contesti. It was doclded to accept the recommendations made, but the secretary was instructed to ask for an alteration in the qualifications, which would then permit of residents who were non-mem-bera of formed clubs, playing only in conteats including a scratch Mam. With regard to athlotics. Association football, golf, and tug-of-war, it was decided to point out that, as Sumner harl raised scratch teams in order to meet the withes of New Brighton last year, it was hoped that, as representatives from thebe clubs were on the Sumner Executive, New Brighton would endeavour to find teams to play them. A sub-committee, consisting of the preiident and Mr H. J. Williams, was appointed an executive to deal with matters of urgency, The invitation of the New Brighton Executive to the Joyland social on Thursday was accepted with thanks, and arrangement* were made to have the Sumner Borough fully tepreaented at the presentation of the Shield by the Hon. J Barr, M.L.O.
