TROTTING WOtEJ& Nominations for the Gore T.C.'a Annual Meeting close to-day at 5 p.m. Acceptances for the New Brighton T.C.'s Summer Mseting close on Monday at noo'n. Good nominations have been received by the Ashburton T.C. for its Summer Meeting. Amongst enga&ed are Grand Denver, Happy Voyage, Childe Pointer, Vilo, Lady Swithin, Peter Mac, Whispering Willie, Cochat, Albert Cling, Lady Joan, Logan Chief, Tommy Direct and Ouiinet. The grass track at Canterbury Park was" in ■ nice order yesterday, but few trainers took the opportunity of giving their horses fast work. There was little between Delville' Wood and Tracey Boy at the .end of a strongly run 'mile. Delville Wood is under orders for Auckland, where he should run well. Pinevale (harness) and Bing Boy (saddle) worked a fast mile, the former finishing the better.The trotters Merry. Bingen and Alpha Wilkes were given three-quarter pace over a couple of miles. Trix Pointer (F. Holmes), Sherwood, P. Holmes, junr.), Countryman (W. J. Morland) and Taraire- (J. Bryce) worked in company over a mile and a-quarter. The pace was solid over the last four furlongs, and the quartet finished on terms. Star -Queen paced evenly over a mile and a-half.
