THE INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.

PUBLIC INTEREST MAINTAINED.

Visitors to the Industrial Exhibition cannot fail to be impressed therewith. The comprehensiveness and magnitude of the display is .astonishing, and manyindustries of which the general public knows little are represented. Above all, everything has been produced in the Dominion. Of course, there are several machines which have'not been manufactured here, but these prove only a means to an end-in t.e production of a purely New Zealand-made article. The decorations have been considerably improved since the opening day, and besides this, direction pi, .cards have been placed thi\.ug..out both the annexe and the" main building, thus making it comparatively simple to locate any dssircd spot. Snrprl.e has been expressed in some quarters at the continued large attendance of the public. On no single day has tlie number of those who have paid for admission fallen below the 2000 mark, and this fact proves particularly gratifying to those responsibe. In every way possible the convenience of visitors has been catered for. Entertainments are provided at a merely nominal charge, while jn both the afternoon and evenings a free musical programme is submitted. Practically without exception the stills have now been completed, and vacant spaces are few and far between. Special arrangements are being maae for the announcement of e cctiun results in the main building to-night. The Exhibition will remain open until midnight, and the Woolston band will be in attendance..

Yesterday pupils of the following schoo's visited the Exhibition: Opnwa, Snrcydon, Cashmrre. Aranui, Wh.irenui, Shirley, and Linwood.

Last evening the Kaiapoi Male Choir submitted a numlier of enjoyable vooal items, and Miss Macdonald's orchestra was in attendance. In the afternoon Mr A. Bidgood's orchestra provided a programme in the lounge. The cinema and radio broadcasting hall was well filled during nil sessions last night. The. attendance yesterday proved very satisfactory, and 2200 persons, includinog a number of country visitors, paid for admission. It is expected that there will be a particularly large attendance to-night, when the election results will be announced, as' they come to hand.
