BRITISH EMPIRE EXHIBITION.

PROTECTING DOMINIONS' INTERESTS. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Renter's Telegrams.) LONDON, November 28. The Duke of Devonshire, in a letter to "The Times" replying to yesterday's leader, calls attention to the fact that special sub-committees have been appointed, consisting of representative executive members nominated by the High Commissioners of the Dominions, and one representing the colonies, to deal with the whole problem of Imperial supplies and materials for the Empire Exhibition. He also states that the High Commissioners are members of the executive, and adds that it is hard to imagine how any closer degree of co-operation is attainable, or what further steps the council can take to satisfy the Dominions that their interests are fully protected. ["The Times," in a leader commenting on Canada's indecision regarding the Empire Exhibition, said: "The Exhibition executive must at all costs avoid any attitude towards the integral portions of the Empire, which might suggest a lack of sympathy with their ideals, insufficient knowledge of their resources, or disregard of their material interests. An unequivocal statement should be promptly issued reaffirming the principles which will govern every arrangement which may be made."]
