REGATTA AT REDCLIFFS.
Nothing but _bad weather can mar the success of the Redcliffs regatta and gala to be held on Saturday next. For months past the committee has been working strenuously, and it has arranged & programme of amusements and land and aquatic sports that would be difficult to excel. A canvaatown ihos arisen in the last few days on the beaoh at Redcliffs, and it will embrace a wide variety of Btalls and side-shows. The Wool.ston Band will be in attendance, and will give a programme of music. In the evening there will be dancinj; on the lawn, and a boxing tournament will be held. The feature of tlie function will be the aquatic display, which, it is stated, will surpass anything of the kind yet seen at a Christchurch watering resort before. Over 30 yachts will take .part, while the motor-boats will be much in evidence. A splendid programme of rowing events will also be decided.
