MB BOBEBT KEABEE IN SYDNEY.
Amongst the passengers who arrived at Sydney by the Bendigo a few days aeo was Mr Robert Keable, a young novelist who has already achieved sucpfissbv the publication of two novels. One Shis P books,'''Simon Called Peter" is "in its 66th edition, and 25,000 copies of the other novW, "The Mother of All Living," were sold before it was published.' Mr Keable is a scholar of Magdalene College, -Cambridge. He took a firstclass tripos in history in 1908, and rowed for his college. Subsequently he entered the Church, and he lived the clerical life for ten first in an Enelisb «lnm parish, and then in East, Central, and South Africa. For two vears he served as a chaplain with the South African, forces m France. In 1819 feeling that he could no longer confess the orthodox creeds, MrKeable resigned from the Church of England in South Africa. In conversation with * "Sydney Morning Herald", reporter, Mr Keable £id h* had always written. When he was ordained he commenced to produce devotional books. These were, followed bv several travel volumes, but feeling that he would some day write novels, he waited impatiently for the time and inspiration.
