SCOTTISH CONCERT. There was » large gathering of Scots and others at the Choral Hall last night, when a national concert wae given under .the auspices of the Canterbury Caledonian Society. The programme submitted wae euch as to bring joy to tie hearts of those who pride themselves on their. Scottish ancestry, and comprised items by some of the best known performers in Chiiatchurch. After the Pipe Band had started the proceedings with a rollioking selection that soon had the feet of many of the audience stamping in unison, Mr Farquhar Young gave one of Jus inimitable eongs, which was received witt enUiusiastio applause. Mr and Mrev Young are considered to be the'best exponents ot Soots singing in the Dominion, and'certainly their weak last night, and. the manner in -which.it-'wai greeted:,;bore <futtheir;xeputation, the audience being loath to let them leave the stage.
