King and Co., bankers, in Pall Mall, were the scene of an extraordinary double tragedy. Lindsey Lindsey, cashier, aged 30, shot dead Archibald Grey, clerk, aged 21, and then committed suicide. The employees were preparing to go home when they heard the men quarrelling in the cloakroom over a typiste, of whom they were rival lovers. The girl was formerly on cordial terms with Lindsey, but was about to become engaged to Grey. The elder man was violently jealous. He left a remarkable letter addressed to the Coroner.
