BODY FOUND ON BEACH. (BPSOIAL 10 £ 'THE PBjm") G'REYMO :'TH, October 11. Tito body of a man was found on "Monday evening, by Mr John McCready, on tho rocks between tho steps of the men's bathing shed and the Giant's Tooth at Capo Foulwind, in an advanced stage of decomposition. Constables Adams and Surgeoner Went out with a motor lorry and brought tho body to town. It ;3 thought that some one may have be.m drowned up the country and the body conic down the river. This is tho second body Mr McCready has found at the Cape. Fire at Town, Hall. An outbreak of fire which, but for the construction of the building, might have completely gutted the municipal offices, occurred at the ticket box outside the theatre of th© Town Hall this morning at 2.30. It was discovered by Constable Brazier who, with Constable Murch, promptly gave the alarm. The origin of the outbreak is unknown. Apart from tho complete destruction of the ticket-box and damage to tho plaster, there were no serious consequences. Boxing Association.

At this week's meting of tho Greymouth Boxing; Association, letters were received from the following boxere asking for fights:—Lea Gleeson and Stewart Smith (Australia), H. Deceased was a native of Liverpool and 52 years of age. He came to New Zealand T 4 years ago, and for a time was in the employ of the Westport Borough Council on the clerical staff. Some time ago he opened a store. Deceased was a member of the Masonic and Oddfellows Lodges. He is survived by a widow and one eon, the latter being on the teaching staff of the local school.
