Y.M.C.A. ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.
A well-attended oroheatral and vocal concert was given in the Concert Hall of the -Young Men's Christian Association Building on Saturday night. The t.M.C.A. Orchestra, whioh conaistß of nineteen musicians, provided the bulk of the items, and it was accorded hearty applause, Messra _R. 3. Logan and D. D. Leekie, the conductor and organiser respectively, deserve the highest praise for the way in whioh the body haa been trained. It gave excellent interpretations Of oil fh« selections. The programme Vas as follows:—"The Boys from Home, , match, orchestra} song, Mr Clothier; recitation, Miss J. J&amhire; prelude, No. '2,. "Merchant of Venice," orchestra; duet, i MesdamM Reaves and Scott: charaoter song, "Money Matters," Mr and Miss Logan; 'ln a Monastery Garden," orchestra; selection, "A Day in Paris," orchestra; duet, Messrs 'Hillary and Sampson; violin solo, "Humor-" eske," Mr Silby; "Absent Friends," orohestra; banjo seleotion and song, Mr Wood-" ward;-.sons'. "Why Am I Alwsva the Bridesmaid ?"MrHall; sejeetioft, "Smithy," arches* tea. The personnel of the oioheetra was as follows:—First violins, Miss Barber and -Messrs E. Silby, D. Leekie, Or. Maddama/ and G. Rose; second violins, Miss Scales, Mr 0. Smith; viola, Mr H. Pickup; 'cello, Mr A. Btfl&ely; double hass, Mr L. Turmicliffe; clarionet, Mr J. Fltogerald; flutes, Messrs 0. Lye and BkeltGn; cornets, Means V. Brtmdall and Houltort; trombone, Mr ,T. Williams; hass drum and hells, Mr J. bowler; piaufste, Miss Campbell.
