The Australian tennis. players; Patterson and O'Hara Wood, e/re in the finals of th« National Doubles Championship haying defeated Niles (America) and .'Borotra (France) in the • semi-final, 6-1, 7-5, 6-0. The Australians won the first, second, and third games, and Niles *nd Borotra the. fourth. The Australians took the fifth, six, and seventh. They. -were 'playing finished tennis, talcing' game after tyame 'with ease. Their opponents] won the' first game in the second set after, douce, and. the Australians 'won the second with the loss of one stroke, and the third to love. Niles and Borotra were very unsteady, and Patterson's . speed was terrific Niles and Borotra won the fourth and fifth, each with.'. the loss of one point, and the Australians won the sixth' in like manner. Niles and' Borotra won the seventh after three deuces, and the Australians , won the eighth.' Niles and Borotra steadied ' considerably, and were playing''' better tennis when the rain interrupted the ninth game. The rain soon stopped, and the. Australians won the ninth' game to love, the tenth with tho loss of a stroke, the eleventh with the loss of'two, and the twelfth.to love.' In the third set the Australians -won the first and second games after a. double deuce, the third to love, the fourth with the loss of a point, and the fifth' after deuce. Jules and Borotra. whb yesterday defeated' Williams and' Washburn, lost year's Davis Cup doubles team, in a sensational match, appeared weak to-day - against Patterson 8 speed. The Australians won the sixth, gam* after deuce had been called, and the set and match. -» ■' ' The Johnson and W. . Johnston-'match against' Tilden and Richards, which was scheduled to" be played simultaneously/with the above match, was postponed until afterwards. FINAL POSTPONED.
