M. POINCARE.
GERMAN PLOT ALLEGED. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received August 2/th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 25. The police have received foreign advice that a German officer succeeded in crossing the frontier and is now en route to or in Paris with a special mission to assassinate M. Poincare. The police are systematically searching the Paris and suburban hotels. It is believed the officer was formerly an assistant military attache to the Germany Embassy. A later message says that the police responsible for the safety of M. Poincare have arrested a man believed io belong to the German secret organisation responsible for tue murder of Dr. llathenau.
