CASUALTIES.
SUICIDE. George Clement nai;derson, u. carpenter, Soutney street. Sydenham, 33 yeais of ago, was found banging fiom a rafter in a coalshed on .Saturday afternoon. An inquest was held ytstei day morniig. It was stated that s>ande<son came home from work on Saturday apparently in his usual state of healtn. tie began working in the garden in the afternoon, and was seen there by his wife at 3 o'clock. She missed nim about 4.30, and discovered him later hanging in the coalshed. He was then iniite dead. The Coroner, Mr H. V. AViddowson, returned a verdict that deceased committed suicide by hanging while in a depressed state of mind.
(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, August 27. The body of a man, aged about oo years, was found in the harbour this morning. It has not yet been identified. Tne man was wearing a returned soldier's badge.
