Hon. F. S. G. Calthorpe, born 1892, captain of Warwickshire. Had a bri.liant career at Cambridge. One of tho beat all round amateurs in England to-day. Loot season's batting, 1013 runs, average 29.97. His scores included 120 against Cambr.dge, 176 against Somerset, aiid 209 against Hampshire. He also took 67 wickets at an average oost of 29.01, which is a gocd performance playing for a weak county. In the match against Worcester he had a bone in the left hand broken, which incapacitated him for the rest of tile' season. Geoffrey Wilson, born 1895. Wilson played for Harrow, Cambridge University, and Yorkshire. He has evidently not played much last season,, batting for Yorkshire only four times, and scoring 40. A. P. F. Chapman, horn 1900. Uppingham, Cambridge University, and Berks. In 1921 Chapman made 199 with an average of 68.26 for Cambridge. His rcorcs included 136, 127, and 110. He headed the bowling averages with 8 wickets at' a cost of 16.25. P,aying for Berkshire Chapman soared 468, includmg one innings of 167, and took 19 wickets, with an avorage of 16.40. T. C. Lowry. Son, of Mr T. H. Dowry, of Desert Gold fame. Educated at Christ's College. Lowry did not got his blue last season. Wisden oomments: "Tho strength of Cambridge's batting may be iudg d from the fact that T. 0. Lowry, the New Zealand freshman, who carried distinction in county cricket, could not securo ft place ia tho eleven. Playing for Somerset. Lowry was fourth in tho averages, making 891 runs with an average of 26.6. When at Christ's College Lc-wry was a wicket-keeper of more than average ability. C. H. Titchmareh, born 1881. Headed the battjng averages for Herts last season, scoring 628 runs, including an innings of 116 with an average of 41.87. Freeman. No amateur of this name js mentioned in Wisden. J. R. Freeman,, oi Essex, scored 1532 runs, including 3 oenturies, and took 6 wickcte for his county. C. H. Gibsou, born 1900. Scored 165 runs with an average of 20.62, and took 86 wlckett at an average cost of 20.47 for Cambridge University last season. Against Oxford hj« took six wickets and made 43 not out. Hon. D. F. Brand, born 1902. Captain of Eton, 1920 and 1921. Scored 846 runs with an average of 23.6, aiid bowled more than any other member of the team, taking 28 wickets at an averago cost of 18.75.
