RANGIORA BEEKEEPERS' ASSOCIATION.
The first annual meeting of the Hangiora branch of tho National Beekee]jers' Association was lickl last week. Mr H. A. Johnstone presided, and amongst those present were Mr G. H. Sargent, Government Apiary Inspector, and Mr W. B. bray, a director of the Honey Producers* Association. The annual report staled that sin<?e tho foi mat lon of the branch in iebruavy, 1921. nine evening meetings' had been held and tli'ey had been lcaoonubly well attended. During the spring two aiternoon. demonstrations wero held, and there was a very good atttndaUCe oi members and lriends. Tho first afternon was devoted to foul brood demonstrations and an t-ddiess by Mr E, A. Eatfi, and the Second to demonstration of by*arm control and superings, given by Mr 11. A. Johnstone. Part ol the session's syllabus was not -earned out owing to several members being too busi.y engaged in their farm work. The membership stood at 18. llianks were due to llr and Mis H. Manning and Mr C. li. 'Xh.vaitcs, for granting the use of the api.uvies lot demonstration purposes, and for Hospitality to visitors. The balance-:heet, adopted with the report, showed an expenditure of ±'6 19s, and a debit balance of Us Ld. Ojiccrs were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr'C. 1. - ' Jennings; president, Mr H. A. Jchnstone; vice-president, Mr V. 11. Pulley; secretary and _Ueasuior, Mr J. ii. Cook; librarian, Mr C. K. 'lhwaitea; auditor, Mr L E. Breach; . committee, Messrs H. Manning, D. Pcthig, H. 1). Bettger, B. E. Stanton, and H. F. Oates. A vote of thanks was accorded to the officers. Mr Bray gave an address on the operations of the Honey Producers' Association, and the advantage of being connected with it. He strongly urgad all tho beekeepers present to become numbers ;>.nd thereby help those engaged in the h~ney industry to obtain a faar return for their labour. .
