VI OPEOTNO <>r OTASON. ; W The overwhelming-patronage accordil the; toller skating rink in' St,' "Asaph street' on. /Saturday, 'when' th» popular pastimS returned after a lapse .of several years, indicated the extent of the field ' available for the development; of the recreation. The rink, • which is situated just' opposite 'the Oddfel- ' lows' • Hall, possesses certain limitations which are unavoidable in relation to . a building not specially constructed for roller skating, but considerable ingenuity has been exercised in making the moat' of tj>e available ' epace without sacrificing the comfort and convenience of patrons. The floor presented a splendid skating surface,' and the skates on issue .were of. a high grade, although'their numbers were totally inadequate to meet the tremendous demand 'expenertoed. Many patrons brought their own skates, aiid' thise people . Were undoubtedly wise ,in their day and generation. With a crowded ; concouree in a rink, _ not by any means, too large j floor discipline is of the utmost importance, and, it will be the aim of the. management to'keep, the moving maBS at all times under strict control. A loudtoned orchestra' supplied the musia on Saturday,. and at -all evening and Saturday afternoon sessions during- the season the orchestrk will be on duty. Splendid attention will ■be paid to learners at the afternoon sessions during the week.. The rink will be open daily from 2:30 to 4.30 p.m., 6 to -7 p.m., and-7.80 to 10 p.m.
