i WAIMATE A meeting of the "Waimate Rugby Sub-Union was Leld in Sir N. L. Thomas's office, those present being Messre N. L. Thomas (president), W. A. Lee, 0. Craighead, D, Newall (vioepreaident), H. Smith, T. Quirk, E. J. Costello, A. MeLauchlan, B. Clear, R. Forsytlio, and E. J. Hays (delegate), and A. Hall (secretary). It was agreed that the Marist Club should have prior right to any member of their Chuixih, irrespective of the district, to which lie belonged. After discussion, it wna agreed that the Glenavy team should affiliate with the sub-union. It was decided that fill clubs affiliated with the sub-union should not play on Sundays on any ground controlled by the subunion. The annual meeting of subscribers to the Hunter library was held in the Library Hall. The following committee was elected for the ensuing year, the first four being re-elected Messrs K. Mercer, C. Cunningham, C. Cowan, D. McMurchy, J. T. Anstey, C. Gibson, and S. Engelbrecht. Mr Shears was re-elected auditor. At a preliminary committee meeting, held afterwards, Mr Mercer was re-elected chairman and treasurer and Mr C. Gibson scretary. A meeting of the Sir Arthur Pearson. Memorial Fund Committee was held in the Borough Council Chambers. Present: The Mayor (.Mr F. Nash), in the chair, Messrs Patterson, Dash, Chcve.*ton, Campbell, Parry, Hutchinson, Smith, Dr. Wylie, Mesdames Jones, Collis, Harrison, Manchester, Misses Bruce and Jones (hon. secretary). It was decided to make a bouse-to-houso canvass for funds throughout the town. Mr A\. Patterron was elected treasurer. The annual meeting of the" Plunket Society was attended by Mesdames Studholme (presiding), Balfour, W. E. Evans. Adams, Hayes, 0. Manchester, Mcßae, Stewart, Meyer, and the secretary. The annua] report and balancesheet were adopted. The following were elected offioe-bearers: President, Mrs Studholme; vice-presidents, Mesdamea G. Manchester and Hayes; secretary, Mrs Collis; treasurer, Mrs J. W. Manchester; executive, Meedam-« S. J. Adams, Smith, R. Hurst, and Evans.
