LOS ANGELES, March 29. 'After the completion of tho film upon which he is now engaged, the traditional figure oi Charlie Chaplin will probably disappear from tho screen. Charlie states that he has at last decided tp carry out his long-cherished determination to abandon low comedy. His next film will be based on. tho stpry of, Punchinello. ■ "It will be a mixture o£ ainilea and tears," he said. "I havo' no idea how audiences will like me apart from, my hat, cane, and trousers. I feel Punchinello inside me, and I'm going to do it." Jackie Coogan, tho eeven-year-old hero o. Charlie Chaplin's fiini, "The Kid," has been engaged to play the title role in a screen version of "Oliver Twist."
The picture will be mado during the diminutive comedian's visit to England m tho summer.
