WOOL SALE.

keen demand.

ALL-ROUND IMPROVEMENT.

A supplementary wool Bale was held at Pyno, Gould; Guinness, Ltdi'a room, Cashel street, yesterday. The catalogue was a small one, comprising mostly odd and fellmongering lots, with a few. fair-sized, clips of both fine and coarse wool. The following were tho individual brokers' offerings: National Mortgage and Agency Company ... ... ••• 603 N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Association 544 Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd. ... 630 H. Matson and Co. ... ... 432 N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company ... ••• ••• 132 Dalgety and Co. ... ••• 148 2489

• The sale was spirited from th© outset, and better figures than at the March sale were established throughout. All round, the increase represented from about lid to lid, there being cases in both halfbred and' merino wools that showed an advance of more than 2d per pound. Fine and meuium crossbred so.d particularly well. The brokers 1 valuations were comlortaWy exceeded in the bulk of the catalogue, and passings were almost negligible, except ui the case of two clips where vendors* ideas wero on the side. H-ome and foreign buyers apparently had ample buying orders, and for all classes of iieece wools set a good pace. Fellmongering lots . met with a correspondingly free sale. Crossbred tell largely to English buyers and finer wools to both American and Home representatives. Local mills were not so prominent as at former sales, there being little in the Catalogue to suit them. • , „„ , . 'Of the bigger clips-offered, 63 bales of Annandale crossbred wools made from 6ld to 9d, 12 lambs selling at 9d. Glenralloch made from 53d to 8a tor 45 bales, crossbred lid, lambs 9d. Titirangi (Sounds clip) sold 80 bales crossbred at from 6£d to 9d. Sonie Chatham Islands wool made for ( I IJ.H. brand) 43 bales Romney from 7Ja to 81 d; A double cross brand from the Islands made from 6Jd to BJd for 74 bales crossbred. Thirty-one bales Tarndale merino made the good average of from 14id to lYd, nine pieces 122 d to 13} d, 23 halfbred from Hid to 15d, and three three-quarterbred 12d.
