THo committee of th© Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Forestry Letigu£ met on Wednesday evening, Mr James Deans presiding. It was., decided to upon tne Chfißtchurcli City Council the desirableness of planting as large wt area a ® possible during the coming winter; ana also to circularise the different public bodies, including Domain Boards, throughout Canterbury, and advise them that the League had arranged for a supply of trees at prices considerably lower than those which were ruling Jast year. It was ftho decided to impress on public-bodies communicated with that they should take advantage of tho lower cost of fencing, and the fact that labour is available, and that a- plentiful supply of trees for planting is on hand. - • It was decided to call a general meeting of tho members of the branch at an early date.
