A Bill has been introduced into Parliament aiming at the suppression of tihe stowaway traffic. Secret agencies exist at Havre arid other ports to ship stowaways, to prevent their detection aboard, and to feed them and smuggle them ashore at their destination. The degree of comfort aboard varies according to the amount paid to the agent. The traffic is increasing owing to the higjh fares the shipping companies charge. It is stated two thousand were shipped away last year.
