The receiving antannra, placed no, the lining of his coat, emits a buzzing sound when headquarters and by placing a small receiver to the ear the nclieeman can hear instructions as easily and distinctly as though he were connected by ordinary telephone. But he is unable send messages. Dr. P. W. Elridge-Greea, of the Beard of Trade, who lectured at the Ollege of Surgeons last i month on "New [Researches in" Colour Vision," told a "Daily Mail" reporter that he knew of a Royal Academician who could recognise only two colours. The artist painted the faces in a portrait gi-een, and had to ask his wife to select "the colours for his pictures. A person with very acute colour vision could distinguish. seven colours.
