Bowling Club. The rgcont smoke concert which this held in the Town Hall provided a very enjoyable evening. The president of the club, Mr H. H. Barlow, presided, on his right sat Mr T. Healey (president of the Canterbury Bowling Centre), while Mr IX E. Wood (secretary to the Centre) was also present. An appropriate toast list was honoured, which, included: "Sumner and Sport," proposed by Mr J. M. B. Crawford, and responded to by Messrs W. F. Raphael and H. C. Jones; "The Champion Rink," proposed by Mr W. Hen lev and responded to by Messrs W. J. Hampton and R. Wallace; "The Winners of the A Pennant," proposed by Mr H. A. Bruce, and responded to by Me=sTs H. Barlow and W. Henlcv. During the evening musical :>.nd other items were given Dy Mcssivs T. Healey, F. Mathews, H. Wilson. F. Cooler, F. S. Marrie, J. M. B. Crawford. G. Foster. F. Hobba, and C. T. Midd oton. Mr G. F. Allen acted as accompanist.

Bailev; treasurer. Mr E. A. Bishop; Works Committee, Messrs G. F. Newman, F. H. R. Nev'lle, and F. Mathews; delegates to the School Committees Association, Messrs Neville, Mathews, and Bailey. Forensic Club. The annual meeting of the Forensic Club wa« he'd this week, when the Mayor p i- e?id"d over an attendance of forty. The snccial Good Fr'dny services were well attended yesterday, the vicar, the Rev. El O. W. Powell, o'fij ciated. At tfie morning service "The Story of th<> Cross" was sung. In-the afternoon there was a children's service, while .in the evening the service took the form of a "Qiret Hour," the viear giving a devotional pddrew. The offertories were for St. Saviour's Orphanage.
