The depredations pf mice in the western districts of New South Wales' are increasing. Reports from many centres state. that it has bocome necessary for members of families to take turns to act as sentries over sleepers to prevent their being bitten by tike pests which' are in countless millions. Having stripped farms and grazing lands they are now invading tho farmers' homes. Haystacks are being fouled nnd fodder rendered valueless. The stencli of mice has made many homes almost uninhabitable. Although thousands of mice aro caught every night no appreciable reduction in the plague is noticeable.
