ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of the Christcmucl Orchestral Society was held last evening. Mr H. E. Harman presided over a fair attendance of members. > The annual report stated that tlie Society was in a very satisfactory position. A number of concerts were given throughout theyear, and were greatly appreciated. The Orchestra also gave a bunday afternoon concert in aid of tile Unemployment Fund. This concert resulted in about #BO being added to the fund. During the ycftr the leader of tho Orchestra, Miss Vera Barker, had resigned from the position. Tho Society'* thanks are due to Mr A. L. Sutton, and ft number of others who had assisted the Society during the year. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £lO i& lid. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected.for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr S. (i. Raymond, K. 0.; president, Mr R. A. Home; vice-pre-sidents, Dr. Hight, Dr. Thackex, M.P., Dr. John Guthrie, Dr. P. Stanley Foster, Dr. T. D. Crooke, Messrs G. Bonnington, P. 0. Raphael, H. H. Loui*inan, W. Kidston, T. W. Dent, Alfred J. Bunz; committee, Mrs O. Wilson, Miss C. Werry, Messrs A. P. do la Cour, W. T. Ward, W. Hay, H. E. Jatinan, 8. Skinner, F. P. Frye; hon. conductor, Mr H. G. Glaysher; trustee, Messrs R. A. Home, G. H, Bonnington, F. C. Raphael; lion, auditor, Mr H. R. Beat; hon. librarian Mr H. W. Peryman; hon. secretary a.nd treasurer, Mr H. M. Williams. Tho resignation of Miss Vera Barker as leader of the Orchestra necessitated tbo appointment of a new leader; This was left ovei till a later date.
