GIRL PEACE SCOUTS.
- The monthly meeting of the Executive Committee of the -Girl Peace 'Scouts' As.*(;ciution was held at Scout Headquarters yesterday. There were present: Mesdames Andrew. Cos'sgrove, sen., Ernin, Holland, 0.8. E., Macaithy, Marriner, H. H. Smith. M.8.E., Thacker, Miss Tabart, and the Chief Pence' (Scout (in tioe chair). The meeting discussed the question of Mrs Andrew's trophy. It wa*. eventually decided that Mrs Andrew should draw up the conditions for a sewing competition for G.P.S. troops throughout j New Zealand. [ Regarding the annual meeting»of the Council of the Association, it waa- proposed by Mies Tabart, seconded by Mrs Cossgrove, and earned, that this year the annual meeting be held in Christclaufch during the last week in' May, and that the wives of the Boy Scout Commissioners (who al'so will be in session at their Association's annual meeting that week) be invited to attend the meeting of the G.P.S., Association. Captain Cossgrove apologised for the ateence of the general secretary, who is on He also reported the results of his tour of inspection through the Marlborough and Nebon provinces. G.P.S. troops are in active work m Bafcairn,Rapaura x and Nelson, and steps are being taken to form tepope in Amberley, Cheviot, Kaikoura, Blenheim* and Picton. Cra* ' ! croft-Wilson, will "be visiting AuoKVmd in the near future, it waa decided to authorise' her to caft a meeting of[the,Q.P.S. scoutmistre&es in Auckland) form a Council, if possible, and obtain the nomination of some'.lady witting to act as commissioner. Mrs 'ATidre.tr drew attention to the Tact tibat very iittle is heard of activities of troop committees. The'rules of the Association provide for/theappointment of troon comntittees. She tbercfcre proposed that it be an instruction to aU ecoutmi'stresses, through vtovmcial officers where such exist,- that a troop committee be appointed- for every troop; that'thi* be done within three months of thia date, and that, where committees have not been formed $n accordance with thia instruction, the - executive consider taking; farther steps' to give effort to their wishes. This was 1 seconded by Miss Tabart and carried.
