SOUTH RAKAIA ROAD BOARD.

At the monthly meeting .of the South' Bakaia Boad Board there were present— Messrs A. J.. Magsou-(chairman), T., Blacklev J Lambie, H. J. Crothers, and H. A. Hasrison. A deputation from the Bakaia " Soldiers' Memorial Committee waited on th 6 Board arid conveyed the thanks of the com--mittee to the Board for- tb.9 .gift of a site and for other assistance rendered. An invitation- was also extended to the Board to be present at the unveihng ceremony on Auaac Dayi The chairman and secretary were authorised to-interview Mr. C. Grey with'reference to'damage to the Acton road. The secretary of the Hakaia Public Library wro*e esking the Board for financial help for +he -institution. The clerk' was -instructed to ascertain if the Board had power to assist. Tie Chriatchuroh' Scouts' 'Association wrote asking Board to appoint a representative to a meeting,to be held in Christchurch. The letter was received. Mr C. The Po«4 Office "authorities wrote stating that" they were not r liable to clear broom, etc., from road frontages.
