PIGEON FLYING.
The- Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew a race from Parnassus last Saturday. One hundred and ninety-four birds were cent, representing twenty-isur owners competing. The birds were liberated by tin str.uonmaater at 2.27 a.m., in fine weather aim a nor'-east. wmd. Tho buds put up iairiy last times. Tho winner turned out to be P. Chambers's So. 563, wmch flew the distance ol 75 miles 1193 yards nir-iinc- in ihr 4enun 31sec. 'lire ioiiowiug is the velocity lecorded by each owners birds: —
