SUNDAY EVENING CONCERT.
The promenade concert to bo given in the King 'Edwoid Barracks, at 8.15 on Sunday night, should-attract a large crowd. Mr Stender, the champion coraetist of Australia, Has been specially engaged for this concert, and it will be bis' only appearance here. IV was thought last week that Mr Stender could have played at the Domain FSto to-morrow, but when thai was found to be impossible, it waas, decided to put on the Sunday evening concert in the Barrack*. ' otherwise the people of Uhristchurch would not have had an opportunity of hearing" this fine artist. Mr Sydney Butler, L.R.A.M., tenor soloist, has also been amgaged, ond tie 'Woolston Band, under Bandmaster Etetall, will give a-fine programme of nrasfo. The-profits of this concert will go towards initiating the musio in schools move-, rnent.
