TO CORRESPONDENTS.
Letters submitted to the Editor for publication must be written in ink, on one side of the paper only, and writers must Bend their full names and addresses in detail, whether it be intended that these shall be printed or not.
Correspondents must 6ay distinctly whether or rot their letters are being, or have been, submitted to other journals. The Editor cannot undertake to return or preserve any letter which for any reason is unsuitable foi' publication, to acknowledge unsuitable letters although this will be done where it appears to bo necessary), or to enter into any correspondence concerning letter* submitted for his consideration.
.Sport.—(l) If a competitor at a sports gathering is charged for admission, either ho or the Sports Club must pay the amusement tax. (2) AH sports meetings and amusements should be registered with the Deputy Commissioner of Stamp Duties, Christchureh, before the sports meeting or entertainment is held. On receipt of application for registration, the Deputy-Commis-sioner will supply forms containing necessary information. (3) The tax collectable on admission charges is: 6d, nil; Is, Id; Is 6d and 2s, 2d. "Enquirer" :—Of the 212 candidates for the 76 European seats at the Parliamentary General Elections in 1919, a total of 54 were described as "Labour."
