ST. PATRICK'S ASSOCIATION. The St. Patrick's Athletic Sports Association met last night, Mr B. J. McKenna, presiding. ~,;... The Canterbury Centre of the N.4.A.A.A. wrote instructing the Association that Msssra Beattie and McCully were the official haEuicappers for the Centre, and stating that- all handicaps for amateur events must be made by them. ■'•■'■ Mr-J. He moved that the following motion be put on the books: "That the Centre's resolution is mandatory, arbitrary, and quite unnecessary/' This was carried. The Christchurch Sports Club advised that the following motion had been passed: "Thai the Si. Patrick's Athletic Association be again informed that the rules of this club do not. permit of affiliation, but any toxins' club can be associated to this club under a rule passed last November, whereby associated clubs have representation on a competition committee." He moved that the race ,be added to the programme, and that the entries close'on Saturday. The motion was ■ carried. THE SOUTH AFRICANS' TOUE, (MIESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, February 23. The Springbok athletes, together with E. G-. Sutherland, Now Zealand, long jump, high jump, and javelin champion, left for Auckland by train to-day en route to Sydney and South Africa. Mr Emery,-the manager of the team, said: "It. has been a- pTeat tour. We have no regrets, and- we. leave with some very happy memories of >i fine time—the fiuest possible time that any athletes' could wish-to have. Everything possible his been done for us. The sportsmanship has -been- wonderful." The team hod done well, and the meetings had been well conducted.
