NEW ZEALAND STUDENTS.

(jROM OTO OWN CORRESPONDENT.) I LONDON, July 28. TLa New Zealand friends of tile F. A. .Taylor, Exeter College, Oxford, will be ; gratified to learn that he has just been . elected to a lectureship in modern languages at Christ Church, Oxford. Quite lately Mr : Taylor was placed in the flist-claas ■of tfco honour school of Modern Languages and Literature, with distinction in French, and 'just now he is in Italy on a tour as the holder of a Heath Harrison scholarship. Mr Taylor, of course, will be remembered as a N.Z.E.F. Scholarship holder. He was formerly at -Auckland University College, and during the war he held captain's rani: with the 2nd A.I.R. Mr J. T. Toiswill has taken the Ikvr Tripos at Oxford, and intends to study in London' for a year. This summer he is going to Franoe and Italy with Mr W. ft. Russell, of Puketapu, Haw-ke's BayMr i-P. Brandon (Wellington) has came to England to study Law, and he has entered Trinity Hall, Cambridge. At the Me3ical Graduation ceremony at Edinburgh University the only New Zealander "oapped" was Mr James Baird Aitken, who graduated with honours. He belongs to Balmerston North. Dr. Aitken is at present taking up general practising in Edinburgh, as a preliminary to further study. In the Fellowship of the Royal College examinations three XHew-Zealanders were successful in the F.B.C.S. (Edinburgh) degree, namely:—Dr. Robertson (Napier), who has been for eome years in India; Dr. J. MoMurray Cole, M.8., Ch.B. (Onehunga), who has recently been K.M.O. at the Winchester County Hospital, and is now about to take resident appointment in a London children's hospital: and Dr. P. C. Davie, who has been attached to Children's Hospital, in Edinburgh, and to the Royal Infirmary there. He is at present bouse surgeon in the latter institution.
