EANGIORA DfJFENOB <*L"ffS. The annual meeting of the Hangiora. Do fouco Rifle Club, held, at tie Drill Hail Itßt night, was well attended. Mr D. "W. hMehitcflfl, president, occupied the chair. In moving the adoption of the taaual report the chairman congratulated the club on again having had a very aucceesful esaeon. Matches had been ahot against ths Christchurch Club, which was lost, againet the Chriatchurch 'Working Men's Club, _ which was won, and against, the Kaiapoi Club, which. ended in a tic. At the Eaater tonrfiv meat at RedclifEs, Rifleman C. Humphnoja won the South Island championship. Ttoe membership of the'club was torty-one active members, eleven honorary members, and on* junior member. Rifleman C. Humphreys w<>n the club championship again this year, hiving also won it on three previous oocaaions. £© also won the Tyler Cup, under Senior service condition*. In the miniature rifle shooting the club'B senior team won the Kaiapoi Association's competition, losing only 000. match. The senior individual aggregate resulted in a tie between J. Arnott arid R. Hughes, they having scored the possible ia all counted matches. The junior aggregate won by -C. Butters with a total Of 489 out of a po6#iblc 490. The balance-sheet showed an inoome? of £146 2s lid, and pxp«nd'>ture £123 2e Id, leaving a credit balance of £23 l£*s 10d. The receipts of the miniature shooting Seetioji were £3l 7a 6d, and the expenditure £44 19* 10d, leaving a debit balance of £l3 120 6d. Tne report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were eleoted:—President, Mr D. W. L. Mehrtena; vjce-preei-dent, Mr J. Arnott; secretary and treaeurer, Mr J. S. CV'ok; auditor, Mr C. I. Jenninga; committee, Messrs W. Butters, G. Butters, C Tyler, G. Milne, A. Cambridge, W. , Turner, E. Foubister, and J. Thompson; handicaypers, Messrs A. Cambridge and \V. Butters; selectoss, the president, vice-president, and secretary. The date of the opening day of the eeeaon waa left to the committee to fix; end a recommendation was made to the committee that one of the annual field days be arranged for o Salnrdny afternoon. An invitation from the Kaiapoi Rifle Club to take part in a .match on Ootober 22nd was | accepted.' | The Hon. I). Buddo wrote resigning his membership, and offering a trophy of tho value of a guinea tn ba tired for during the eeasoh. The trophy wsa accepted with thanks, but the resignation wws held' over. A communication from the Defence Department in reference to the enpply of ammunition was referred to tho incoming committoo to deal with. Mr E. l r . Sandford, tha well-kivown Christchurch rifle shot, whb is now residing in ths Rf.iigiora district, was elected a member, Be was aleo Mr IV. A. Rowse, who waa-at 011s time a prominent shot in the Petoaa Rifle Club. It was decided to include the service competition in the matches for ths grand aggregate. In appreciation of Mr J. S.
