Frederick William Bass (Mr Hanna) was i charged with having been on the licensed premises of the. Empire Hotel after hours, and with giving a wrong name and address to ft police officer. An adjournment was granted for one week. MAINTENANCE. Ernest Edward William Nicholas and Leonard Columbus were ordered to pay mainten&nco to their aged mother at the rate t of 3s per week each, and another bro-. ther; George, was ordered to pay 2s 6d weekly. Jane Faull procoeded against Eldred Roberts Faull for 6epar|tion and maintenance orders', on. the grounds of drunkenness and persistent cruelly.. A separation order was granted.. The following were provisionally sentenced to imprisonment, no -warrants to issue until applied for, for having failed to comply with terms of maintenance orders:—James Henry Trask, Cyril John Moran, Horace Wilford Eden, William Feron, George Alfred Thompson, three months each; Arthur Edward Lauey and John Wilson, ono month each; Robert "Wilson, Charlca Thomas Humrn, and Ernest Henry Ricketts, fourteen days each. Amelia McLenagliiu was provisionally sentenced to six months' imprisonment for a breach of a maintenance order in respect of & child in a home. The arrears amounted to £SJB 16s, and if the ordeT is complied with, and arrears paid off at the rat© of £1 po» week, no warrant ia to issue. Walter Colenso, for failing to comply with a maintenance order in res-oect of five children in the Christchurch Seceiving Home, the arrears amounting to £l2l 12a 3d; waa sentenced to six months' imprisonment, no warrant to issue provided £2 monthly is paid off the arrears. John Rains, for failure to maintain two sons in the Christchurch Receiving Home, the/ tfttenrs amounting to £2O ss, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, no order to issue provided 10s is paid weekly in respect of the order, and 5a weekly off ar« Tears ■ DISMISSED. His Worship dismissed the information. IN OTHER"PLACES. NEW PLYMOUTH CRIMINAL SESSIONS. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, August 16. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day, Mr Justice Sflwdndr presiding. In hie charge to the grand jury, his Honour said he regretted to note, that most of the cases for the present criminal eiittiugH wero concerned with eesual offences. William Webberley, who pleaded g,uiitj to a charge of incest at Kaponga in May, vra& sentenced to five years' imprisonment wittt hard labour.
